SNC Lavalin contracted Reliable Controls to provide programming and commissioning services for the Bald Mountain mine located in the Southern Ruby Mountains of northeastern Nevada. Bald Mountain is an open-pit, heap leach gold mine that utilizes conventional heap leaching technology and carbon absorption for ore treatment.
One of the unique aspects of this project was the development by RCC engineers of HMI operator screens that were trend-based and information-based. This provided operators with a tool to identify potential problems before they occur, allowing them to be proactive in making corrections. The HMI screens were designed in grayscale, providing a clean operator interface. Reliable Controls’ unique engineering work methods and approach resulted in successful on-time project completion and a happy client!
