The Acadian Haynesville Pipeline Extension project is a 270-mile long natural gas pipeline extension in Louisiana, originating in Red River Parish and terminating near Donaldsonville. The project, comprised of 30” and 36” diameter pipe, included two compressor stations and 30 metering stations between the cities of Shreveport and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Reliable Controls provided Factory Acceptance Testing and on-site Pre-commissioning services.
The Factory Acceptance Testing was performed at the contractor’s facility near Dallas, Texas and consisted of:
Creation of FAT testing plan and procedures
Installation and inspection of all devices at the factory
Panel verification of panel power distribution and I/O installed at the factory
Functional checkout and validation of each Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
Functional checkout and validation of each Fisher ROC RTU flow computer
Verification of communication circuits, configurations, addressing, and protocols
Complete checkout of equipment before shipping to site
Completion of all documentation, including inspection forms, calibration forms and check sheets
Pre-commissioning activities were performed on-site and consisted of:
Inspection and documentation of all equipment after construction completion
Functional checkout of all equipment installed on site
Testing and verifying communications between all devices upon completion of construction
Validation sheets for all devices verified during pre-commissioning were documented and provided to the client in the Reliable Control’s Turn Over Package
The project was challenging due to a dynamic construction schedule and the fact that the stations were in remote locations over a large geographical area. Reliable Controls’ project team responded to the client’s needs through innovation, detailed scheduling and planning.
